SEE IT: Chris Matthews jokes about his 'Bill Cosby pill'

MSNBC host Chris Matthews joked about slipping Hillary Clinton a “Bill Cosby” pill before interviewing her in January 2016, footage obtained by the Cut shows.

The “Hardball” host asks, “Can I have some of the queen’s waters? Precious waters?” as he prepares to interview Clinton in an Iowa fire station during the Democratic primaries.

Then, as he waits for his drink, says, “Where’s that Bill Cosby pill I brought with me?”

Cosby has been accused of sexual misconduct by dozens of women and some of his accusers allege that he drugged and raped them.

Clearly, Matthews thought he had delivered a clever line. He holds a smile and laughs while those around him react uncomfortably.

A woman in the background appears stunned as she looks up from a phone call and utters, “whoa.”

Matthews apologized for his remarks in a statement to the Cut Friday.

“This was a terrible comment I made in poor taste during the height of the Bill Cosby headlines.” he said. “I realize that’s no excuse. I deeply regret it and I’m sorry,” he said.

Matthews previously attributed Clinton’s political success to her husband’s infidelity, and even called her “witchy.”

Two former NBC producers alleged that Matthews ran a sexist news operation, claiming he would rate the appearances of his female guests, the Daily Caller reported in December.

Bill Cosby and his publicist Andrew Wyatt (r) head into court on Aug. 22, 2017, where a judge decided the comedian's retrial on charges of sexually assaulting a former Temple University administrator in 2004 will be postponed from November to March of next year.

“He would objectify them and interrupt them in a way that he would never do to his male guests. He had a very outdated view of women,” one former producer told the outlet.

MSNBC said it made a separation-related payment to an assistant producer on “Hardball” after she made a sexual harassment claim in 1999. “Hardball” was hosted on CNBC at the time.
