Love Island star has no plans to slow down over the Christmas period
I’m so excited! Today's the day when my fitness plan finally goes live!
I’ve been working really hard with my trainer Sam Witter to create a programme that covers exercise videos, nutrition advice, recipe ideas and workout tips.
You don’t need a gym membership to take part, you don’t need loads of equipment, and you can do it in the comfort of your own home.
And most importantly, it’s not about weight loss - it’s about getting a healthy body and feeling brilliant about yourself.
Seeing as it's Christmas, this week I'm discussing all on how I keep fit over the festive period...

Christmas day workout
I try to exercise most days, and Christmas is no exception. The thing is, I really enjoy exercising. And if I workout a bit, I can have a few more pigs-in-blankets!
My top three exercises to do at home are lunges, squats, and the plank.
Squats and lunges are great for toning and strengthening the entire body, not just your legs and bum, and the plank is amazing for your abs, back and core. If you can hold a plank for two minutes you’re doing well.
Running for charity
I'm running a 10K for the Brain Tumour Research charity in the new year as it's very close to my heart. My nan passed away a couple of years back from a brain tumour and I was extremely close to her. Ever since then I've been raising lots of money for the Brain Tumour Research charity. They're a lovely organisation - hit them up here @braintumourrsch.
I was a sprinter at school – I represented my county – so 100m is no problem, but longer distances are a bit trickier! A 10k is going to be really hard for me, but hopefully I manage it and after that then I’d love to work towards a full marathon.
Scott won't be doing the run with me as unfortunately he broke his leg in a motorcycle accident and had to be airlifted to hospital back in October last year. He’s now got a massive metal rod running through it and struggles to walk, let alone run.
It's Christmas and a roast is my favourite thing ever, therefore I WILL be having some potatoes and Yorkshire puddings - it's rude not to, no?! But my plate will mostly be filled with greens, turkey and pigs in blankets they're my favourite! Turkey’s pretty lean and healthy so I won’t feel too guilty about that.
I’ll be spending Christmas with Scott too as it's our first one together, and I’m really looking forward to it. We put our tree up together (well, I did most of it) and I've tried hard to get him in the Christmas spirit.
He doesn’t really have any proper traditions so I've been making sure he adopts mine - like wearing a really ugly Xmas jumper on Christmas day, which is a proper tradition in the McDermott household!
Kady's Bikini Plan
I’m honestly speechless at how brilliant the response to my fitness plan has been from the public! I’ve already had thousands upon thousands of people sign up, even before it launched, which is just unreal. Every day people are tweeting me saying how much they’re looking forward to getting started. And it’ll be so nice to help girls across the country to achieve their dream bikini body! Girl power!
My Love Island co-stars have been really nice and supportive too, and it means the world to me. Rachel Fenton, Emma-Jane Woodhams and Katie Salmon have sent me really nice messages.
It's going to be AMAZING! There will be over 200 recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack ideas. All healthy quick and simple recipes, which anyone can make, for yourself or families.
There’s a a 90 day exercise plan and video tutorials, with Sam taking me through intense 20-30 minute exercise sessions. There’s a progress tracker, where you upload your before and after pictures or gym selfies and enter your body measurements, which then allows you to watch your body change as you get results.
And there’s even something called an Inspiration Wall, where you can make your very own collage of your aspirations and goals. Whether that's to look like Kendall Jenner or Beyoncé, or to go big and complete a Tough Mudder course, it's your call.
I'm not a personal trainer
I have never claimed to be a personal trainer. I’m not the professional, Sam is. But I have always been fit, active and competing in sport since I was four years old. I’ve always danced, I was on various teams at school, and I’ve always loved gymnastics. It’s not like fitness is a bandwagon I’m just jumping on - I’ve ALWAYS done it. And together Sam and I make a pretty good team.
I don't think I'd become a personal trainer either, who knows what the future holds, but right now I'm happy being the enthusiastic and passionate amateur.
That's it for this week,
Merry Christmas everyone and please sign up to Kady's Bikini Plan which goes live today!
