LUKE Evans spoke about his Beauty and the Beast character on the BAFTAs 2017 red carpet.
The Welsh actor plays the arrogant Gaston in the live-action remake of the classic Disney animation.
His character wants Emma Watson's Belle for his wife and is willing to go to violent lengths to get what he wants.
"He's a monster!" Luke told Zoe Ball on the BAFTAs red carpet at the Royal albert Hall.
"He's a loveable rogue who turns into a horrible rogue, a monster. I loved playing him."
Luke says he's so glad to be able to talk about the film after the producers forced him and the cast to be "silent for quite a long time" and he revealed that he's seen the "finished product" and he loved it.
Josh Gad plays his side-kick, Le Fou, in the film and they sing the song "Gaston" together in the film.
Luke has a musical theatre background having performed on the West End in shows like Miss Saigon, while Josh famously voiced Olaf in Disney's Frozen.
The live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast features all the original songs as well as a few new ones.
One will be performed by Celine Dion and appear over the end credits of the film.
Beauty and the Beast is out on March 17
