The Chase host Bradley Walsh sold more albums than Zayn in 2016.
Walsh's cover album, Chasing Dreams, was only released on November 25 but managed to sell 111,650 copies, according to Music Business Worldwide who discovered the result using Official Charts Company data.
The former Brentford footballer and soapstar is said to have topped the list over the former One Direction star, whose album Mind of Mine only sold 65,208 copies and was released seven months earlier in March.
Apparently, more people bought Chasing Dreams than Jack Garrett's Phase (62,954) and Blossom's self-titled album (74,155).
It also sold more copies than the Mercury Prize-winning Konichiwa by Skepta, and is the only debut album of 2016 to be certified Gold.
We are in awe.
Bradley's album consists of covers of classic songs like That’s Life, Fly Me to the Moon and Mr. Bojangles, so despite the album sales he won't be getting much of the royalties.
Speaking about the album before its release, Bradley said: “I grew up listening to legends such as Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Tony Bennett.
