Ron Scott, the Hollywood publicist who represented David Hasselhoff, Richard Dean Anderson and John Stamos during their days as young soap opera stars, has died. He was 74.

Scott died Saturday at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, a spokeswoman for Luber Roklin Entertainment told The Hollywood Reporter. The cause was respiratory problems complicated by pneumonia.

During his 35-year career as a publicist and owner of his own company, Hollywood Entertainment PR, Scott also handled Joan Collins during her splashy Dynasty run in the 1980s; repped Jason Bateman in 1982-86 when he was starring on Silver Spoons; and advised Mindy Cohn throughout her 1979-88 stint on The Facts of Life.

In 1987, executive producer Bill Bell brought Scott on board to launch U.S. and international publicity for his new soap, CBS' The Bold and the Beautiful, and Scott repped all 30 actors on that show.

In the 1970s, Scott had been hired by Capitol Records to do publicity for acts including Eric Carman and The Raspberries, Rick Springfield and Blue Swede and for the Ringo Starr album Goodnight Vienna, released in 1974.

The following year, Scott was hired to handle PR for Hasselhoff, then playing "Snapper" Foster on CBS' The Young and the Restless. He represented the actor for eight years, though Hasselhoff's first season on NBC's Knight Rider.

Meanwhile, Scott also handled Jeanne Cooper, who portrayed Katherine Chancellor on the soap opera, for two years.

From 1976-81, Scott repped Anderson when he played the dashing Jeff Webber on ABC's General Hospital (before his MacGyver days) and future Full House star Stamos when he landed the role of Blackie Parrish, a troubled street kid, on the daytime serial in 1982. (At one point, Scott handled 75 percent of the soap performers working on West Coast daytime dramas.

And in 1989, Scott began handling press for Mario Lopez, then starring on NBC's Saved by the Bell.

More recently, Scott discovered and managed the clairvoyant Tyler Henry, star of E!'s Hollywood Medium.
