EastEnders villain Max Branning ordered Jane Beale, played by Laurie Brett to leave earlier this week.
As Jane begged husband Ian Beale to move with her, Max, played by Jake Wood, told her she had to go alone.
James Willmott-Brown, Max’s boss and the man behind the big revenge plot against Albert Square, demanded he ensure Ian didn’t leave.
Fans fear this has something to do with James’ vendetta against Ian’s mother Kathy Beale, who he attacked nearly 30 years ago on the soap.
Jane had rumbled Max’s revenge against Walford, before Max then left her for dead in the restaurant fire.
He also killed Steven Beale, with Jane ready to expose his crimes – but he issued a shocking threat.

Max vowed to hurt her stepson Bobby Beale before saying he would murder Jane unless she left Walford.
Fearing for her loved ones and her life, Jane left the soap in emotional scenes in Friday’s episode.
Amid fears Jane has been killed off after a twist at the end of the episode, fans think this could be the end of Max.
As Jane left in a taxi, she left Ian a voicemail claiming she was going to tell Ian everything.
With Max’s secrets now under threat, fans believe this has to be the end for him – ahead of daughters Lauren and Abi Branning leaving the soap at Christmas.
Taking to Twitter, one fan commented: “Phew Jane has told Ian , how is Max going to come back from this?”
Another agreed: “Yes Jane ringing Ian to tell him what’s going on, hope they bring down Max and his crew.”
A third tweeted: “I'm really going to miss Jake Wood. He should be in #EastEnders for years and years, but there's no coming back for Max.”
