On Monday evening (Nov. 13), Meek Mill supporters, athletes, and peers flocked to the Criminal Justice Center in Philadelphia to protest the embattled rapper's recent sentencing. Protestors held signs that read "Justice For Meek" and launched into a chant of Meek's 2012 debut LP title track "Dreams and Nightmares."
According to a video from the rally, the packed crowd outside the Criminal Justice Center vehemently belted out the lyrics to the rapper's song yelling, "Hold up, wait a minute. Y'all thought I was finished?/ When I bought that Aston Martin, y'all thought it was rented?/ Flexin' on these n----s, I'm like Popeye on his spinach."

"I'm here for one reason: I'm here to support my brother Meek Mill. I want y'all to understand that if it take Meek Mill to draw this attention, we gonna use Meek Mill to draw this attention that is gonna speak for so many others."
Meek was sentenced to serve up to four years in prison for violating his probation. In an interview with Billboard, Meek's attorney Joseph Tacopina held nothing back when discussing his client's sentence and believed Judge Brinkley's sentence "was an enormously grave mischaracter of justice. A really despicable version of what the justice system is supposed to be."
Tacopina later added that Meek is "a strong kid" and his community will stop at nothing to ensure justice is served. "He knows he has a bunch of people fighting for him. I mean, what this has done is spur outage. Mike Rubin [part-owner of the Philadelphia 76ers] was going absolutely wild. JAY-Z is out there going absolutely wild," he continued. "People who are very powerful in that community are not going to stand there and take that. There's going to be a real sort of powerful and strong response."
